One way you can help Cornerstone Booster Club reach its fundraising goals this year is to take advantage of your employer's matching program when you join Booster Club. Many companies in our area will match the donations made by their employees to non-profit organizations and it will effectively double the impact you can make for your student with only a little effort!
To ensure that funds are directed to the correct organization, please read the FAQ below and use Cornerstone Booster Club's official name, non-profit tax ID, and contact information.
Here is information to input into your charitable portal:

Many companies match their employees' contributions to non-profit organizations. In the United States, a non-profit organization that is permitted to offer tax-deductible donations is also called a 501(c)(3) organization - the Cornerstone Booster Club is such an organization.
Many companies will even allow you to choose if you want your donation matched one time or, if you have a donation directed to the Cornerstone Booster Club from each paycheck, they will match each withdrawal as well!
No! Employers will match any charitable giving that an employee makes to non-profit 501(c)(3) entities. Extended family and friends are always able to check with their own employers to see if they match their donations!!
Yes! By helping the Cornerstone Booster Club achieve its financial goals for the year, you are helping support the teachers, staff and students. Please click here to see more about what they accomplish at Cornerstone through Booster Club and PTA funding. In addition, the IRS allows donations to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations to be eligible for deduction on your taxes.
****Finally, any corporate match that the Cornerstone Booster Club receives proof of will count towards any annual capital campaign contests or incentives that are offered during the drive. If you want your donation and/or match to count towards these incentives, please submit proof of an accepted corporate matching application to the Booster Club Treasurer by emailing treasurer@csparents.org and president@csparents.org or by dropping it off with the office manager at the front desk in an envelope directing it to the Cornerstone Booster Club Treasurer and we will handle it from there!
Absolutely not! Companies keep corporate matching data totally private. No one has access to this information or can see how much other employees donated. In most cases, companies outsource the entire process so your coworkers would not even be able to access the data.
As soon as you make your donation. Some employers distribute their matching funds right away, some do it on each pay period, some are monthly while others only distribute once per quarter or less. The sooner you apply, the sooner your matching funds can be put to work bettering our school!
It is also important to remember that some companies require matching requests be made within a set time frame after the initial donation. If your company matches your gifts, please apply for it right away.
Each year, the Cornerstone Booster Club receives donations from many employers. Some of the larger employers in the Los Angeles area that we already receive recurring donations from are:
Apple
Mattel
Netflix
Northrup Grumman
Disney
If your employer is not listed here, you can search by company name by CLICKING HERE and typing in your employer. If you still are not sure, then please contact the HR/Benefits department or look on your company intranet to see if matching is available and how to apply for the match.
Each company will handle this process differently. Some processes are completely outsourced while some are handled in-house by the HR department. Some companies require you to make your original donation through their charitable portal and then it will be matched while others just require proof of your original donation during the application process. Please contact your HR department for additional information on how to proceed so you can make sure your donation can be doubled!
No, Cornerstone Booster Club and Cornerstone are totally separate entities with separate bank accounts and regulations governing us... we just both have the same end goal in mind! Please make sure you are specific in marking down your charity name so your money is distributed the way that you intended.
If you need a letter of receipt or have any other questions about matching, please contact Zina, the Cornerstone Booster Club Treasurer, at treasurer@csparents.org.
Possibly! Some companies will match volunteer hours; for instance, Netflix donated $50/hr for one family's volunteer hours at CS in 2023. It is definitely a question worth asking your HR department.
